Beauty Blogs Reviewed by UK Daily Mail

An article in the Daily Mail points up the new revolution in the beauty and makeup industry - the Internet. Online sales of beauty products have soared, and websites devoted to the subject of fashion, beauty and makeup are increasing in number daily.

Women are busy, I think is the point they are trying to make. Women are too busy to spend a lot of time browsing and shopping and the attraction of buying products online - even those that the customers cannot sample first - is that online shopping fits much more neatly into their busy lives.

To fill the gap of experience are hundreds of beauty and makeup blogs, written by women who try products, experiment and make recommendations to other women in a sort of replacement for the usual word-of-mouth of friends or advice from the makeup lady at the department store.

As they note in the article, many sites feature new and cult products from around the world, products many women would not otherwise be exposed to.

So, here's to beauty blogs and them getting the recognition they deserve as a vital part of the shopping experience of today's woman.

Be Totally Sexy

Just as being beautiful is often as simple as feeling beautiful, both inside and out, so it is that being sexy is a result of feeling sexy. Little things make a difference in our self-confidence: a new hair-do, a manicure, a luxurious bubble bath. Everything you do for you pays dividends in increased self-esteem and confidence. And our clothing counts too. When our clothes make us feel both beautiful and feminine, others can see it too. When you feel sexy, you are sexy.

If you're like me, you love sexy lingerie that's feminine and lacy, something naughty but nice. But sometimes your department store doesn't have really quality items nor does it carry a full line. That's why buying online is a great alternative. You can browse in peace, and never feel self-conscious.

If you're looking for top quality lingerie at great prices, with a 90-day, 100% satisfaction guarantee on your order, then visit Totally Sexy.

Make Blue Eyes Pop with Brown Shades

A mistake that many women with blue eyes make is to use blue eyeshadow and blue mascara. While you may occasionally get away with using a deep navy mascara or eyeliner, blue on blue eyes tends to make blue eyes look dull and pale, diminishing their impact instead of making the eyecolor "pop".

Autumn is here and we want smoky, sultry eyes without de-emphasizing those bright baby blues. That's why browns in rich chocolate and coffee shades are perfect to frame your eyes and make them the center of attention.

You will need at least three shades of eye shadow to complete the look. Start with a deep brown espresso eyeliner. Next choose the darkest shade of brown for contour in the crease. A light shade should go on the browbone for highlight and definition. Use a medium shade for the lid. Complete the look with a deep brown or brown/black mascara.

We like Revlon's Colorstay Eye Shadow Quad in Coffee Bean. It has a highlighting shade, a deep contour shade and two mid-tones that you can use separately or together to create your look.

Eyes are Smokey, Dramatic for Fall 2007

Here's another example of how dark (and deepest black) eyeliner and mascara are transforming eyes for Fall 2007. Note also that the trend towards more natural brow lines and thicknesses continues. Gone are the thin, pencil-line eyebrows, replaced by brows that perfectly frame and offset the new dramatic eye makeup looks.

Maybelline offers new dramatic eye color combinations in rich eggplant, navy and pewter. Smokey eyes framed in blackest eyeliner are the focus while lips remain neutral and understated. A matte powder finish is the key to the flawless look for the face.

Eyecolors for this look are available in limited edition ExpertWear Eye Shadow Quads in Rock N Black, Rock Icon and Rock Royalty for light, medium and dark complexions respectively.

Fashion for Rent

Hankering for a trendy Fendi or a Gucci bag but can't afford your good taste? A clever couple in the UK have come up with a fresh new business idea to feed the fashionista in everyone.

Handbag Hire HQ is the brainchild of husband and wife team James and Jo Trafford. Handbag Hire HQ offers a range of the latest designer items for rent. That's right, for rent.

Mrs. Trafford, the buyer for the business, says she has always had an eye for fashion handbags and realized that although many women might want to carry an expensive designer bag to special occasions, they may not want to spend the money to purchase one for everyday use.

The Traffords purchased a stock inventory of the latest designer bags and now offer them for low rental prices. Their customers rent a bag for the occasion they need one for, and then return it. A Chloe Paddington for instance, would set you back more than $2,000 but you can rent one for a week for about $70.
